Curtainwall Magic
Curved Mullions are no longer an issue in Revit!
(SECRET REVEALED IN COMMENTS BELOW)
They are easy - you simply select the 'curved mullion' checkbox on the Options Bar when you are placing curtain grids. Shape handles allow you to pull and push manually or you can enter the radius in the field. Floating Mullions (not attached to the curtain wall edges) must be selected PRIOR to adding them... meaning you can't convert one of the simple curved ones to a floating mullion.
Finally we can do anything we want in Revit!
If you need any help with this just email me here at BIM WITS!
Happy Curtainwalling....

ey??
Ok Mike, spill the beans! Were you drinking last night or had a dream or something? Quite curious as to why you didn't post a picture of the Options bar ;) Have you found some "switch" in the Revit.ini file that we need to enable? Or did you just create a custom curtain panel with the continuous-round-floating mullion in it?
It's not April 1st man.
Im guessing this is on his wish list for 2010.
Or maybe in a drunken haze he violated the NDA for 2010? Hmmm :)
LOL! I thought about that too David, but then I checked and....
OK Guys,
Here's the scoop.
I posted this because I had a client say he wasn't going to use Revit because it couldn't do curved mullions.
The mullions here are actually NOT part of the curtainwall - you know that! You guys are on the ball.
BUT... truth be known - it took only a few minutes to create a face-hosted family that attached to the surface of the glass.
Some quick parametrics made it able to adjust easily to the sides.
There is always a way to solve our DESIGN needs if we will look past the end of our noses!
Thanks for your comments!
More as we go.
Well said. But there's no reason to hide the methodology either and fantasize about a checkbox on the options bar lol! Although we got a kick out of it :)
I may be a little slow on the uptake.... But that's JUST funny!
Dude, whoever posted this is jacked up.
